Race day....

On May 3, 1986, about an hour before the Kentucky Derby ran, my son Robert was born. The derby is on May 5th this year, and on that day, my son will be in the city that hosts the Derby. Louisville Kentucky. He's leaving New Orleans today for Baton Rouge to spend a week with his mother before bussing it up to Louisville to stay with his brother Jason. I knew this was coming, but I'm still feeling weird about it. Like I'm losing him, though I don't see him that often anyway. It's all for the best though.
